Mazda
The first week of August welcomed me with an anonymous email entitle "I WANT MY CAR ON MTM!!!!" This enthusiasm obviously peaked my interest so I opened that email first to find a list of mods, no name, no introduction and some pictures.
If this emailer didn't need an introduction the pictures must be sweet, so I opened them immediately and found a little blue car that I could not identify. A 4 door import with brand labels removed, some paint, wheels and Toyo tires.
First thought: SLEEPER! Going back to the list of mods I learn that is almost the case. This driver is not as concerned with rice as must as he is with performance, at least thats what his submitted list of mods indicates. Modified suspension, exhaust, wheels and even the racing chip! I would not expect that much if I were sitting next to this ride at the lights. And, if my clutch and engine mount were fully operational, I wouldn't hesitate to give him a GO on green either.
As usual, I went through the MTM channels to get the green light to post a ride and I recieved a mixed response. Some said it was a good start and suggested that he come back when its done. Others contended that it was a great effort likely bound by budget and should be posted regardless. I think, after reviewing it a little more, that this driver intended on this ride being the way it is. His enthusiasm to be online, the attention and effort to modify this kind of car as far as he has are all reasons to credit this car with a spot on Readers' Ride.
There is really very little else I can say about this particular ride considering all of my emails have gone unanswered and there is almost no information other than that its a Mazda (I saw the emblem had been removed from the front grill - otherwise I would still be guessing).
